It’s at 420 Mason St., in the same spot that once was housed Ruby Skye. I made my first trip to August Hall recently to see the great Johnny Marr (who returns to play the Fillmore on Sept. 26) and can tell you it’s fine place to experience live music.

And woven in and out of all this were routines by the dancers that had been chosen as favorites by both the six judges and the Final Four dancers, So, if you haven’t gotten tickets to the nationwide tour by the Top 10, you probably saw most of what will be offered, There were three of my favorites from the season, First, there was the “First Kiss” contemporary number by Casey Askew and Jessica that pulled her out of the bottom and into contention, There was the “Voodoo Doll” hip-hop routine by Ricky and Valerie, and another hip-hop number, the rtbu 6 keys locking zip beginner ballet wedge boots fetish dominatrix blue patent “Emperor and the Snake” with All-Star Jasmine Harper and Emilio Dosal, was even better than the first time it was performed..

With the rising outcry against the death of black men at the hands of police, Lustig wanted to add his voice to the fray, though very conscious of his status as an adopted American. Working with a noted gospel choir director, he set a dance to contemporary arrangements of spirituals by Moses Hogan, concluding with one of the bass singers coming forward with that recitation “of the passion and promise of King and the civil rights movement, which hasn’t been fulfilled,” Lustig says.
